DESCRIPTION:Looking for some new clothes for your little ones? Or having a clear out and want to generate a bit of extra money after Christmas? \nCome along to our Family Thrift Market- an indoor market for second hand baby and children’s clothing\, toys\, books and other treasures! \nCome along as a shopper\, or book a table and run your own stall – a fantastic way to save money and recycle.  \nEntry will be £2 per person\, with all entrance fees going to the Little Green Sock project. \nPreloved tables range from £15 for a large trestle (2m x 1m)\, or £5 for a small square table (suitable for kids to sell their own stuff).  The price includes the table itself with room to the side for a clothing rail (if you want to bring one) and room to the front for your larger items. Or bring your own table for £10. \nWe’ll be open from 10am – 1pm\, with set up from 8.30am for sellers. \nThere will be a cafe serving hot and cold refreshments. \nAll proceeds from the entry fee go to Little Green Sock project: https://littlegreensock.org/ \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Got something broken? Don’t bin it – bring it! Join us at Stretford Public Hall on the last Sunday of every month\, from 10am to 12pm\, for our Repair Café. \nOur team of skilled volunteers can help support you to fix a range of items – from small electricals and household gadgets to clothes and more. It’s a great way to reduce waste\, learn new skills\, and connect with your local community over a cuppa. \nNo need to book – just drop in! We strongly recommend arriving by 10am to make sure there is enough time for you to be seen by one of our volunteers. \nRepairs are free\, but donations are welcome to help keep the café running. \nTo find out more information about what repairs will be possible at each cafe\, please check our socials or give us a call on 0161 9891689. DESCRIPTION:We’re running free creative sessions in Manchester for Irish heritage women to explore identity\, culture\, memory and migration. \n\nCreative Sessions\n\nWe’re running free creative sessions in Manchester for Irish heritage women to explore identity\, culture\, memory and migration as part of the St Brigid’s Arms project. This is open to any and all Irish heritage women. All levels of experience are welcome – no experience is necessary. \nOver 5 sessions (either daytime or evening) you will be guided by the facilitator on creatively expressing your identity in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Please only sign up if you can make 4-5 of the sessions as you will be building on your work from previous weeks. \nSee below for information about the artform and facilitators. \nAll materials will be provided\, as well as refreshments. She is part of the collective Scientific Rambles currently exhibiting in Stockport Hatworks for ARC Creative Wellbeing centre\, and she founded the ‘Sew Your Place’ project in 2024\, combining social stitching with collaborative cartography\, and running versions of this participatory experience at Leek Textile Week 2024 and Kew Gardens 2025. Becca is also the director of the New Macclesfield School of Art (founded 2022) and is muralist\, teacher and community artist in her home town of Macclesfield\, Cheshire. \nCj O’Neill – Belfast-born (1978) and raised as the youngest of 7 children to a Dublin-born mother and Omagh-born father\, Cj lives in Manchester with her husband and 2 children and explores her Irish identity\, family\, transitions and storytelling through a Craft practice which focuses on working with existing ceramic objects. Cj is a senior lecturer of Craft at Manchester School of Art teaching across ceramics\, glass\, jewellery and object making at BA\, MA and PhD level. Her focus in teaching is to support the individual or group she is working with to find their unique creative language in the right material\, enabling them to communicate their message through making to make a positive contribution to the world. \nSt Brigid’s Arms project \n  \nThis is a new project capturing untold stories of Irish women in the UK starting January 2025 until February 2027. \nThe National Lottery Heritage Fund backs ambitious project using creative approach to capture UK-based Irish women’s stories \nA groundbreaking new project has been launched by female-led organisation Emerald LENS CIC to document the experiences of women of Irish heritage in the UK. Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and match funding from the University of Liverpool’s Institute of Irish Studies\, the initiative will run until February 2027\, combining creative workshops and exhibitions to preserve stories that might otherwise be lost.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the return of our popular community cookery class! \nFriendly\, easy-to-follow\, low cost cookery classes\, every fortnight. \nAt each class\, you will learn how to cook a tasty\, fresh meal from scratch. Our cookery classes will show you how to eat well on a budget. \nClasses begin at 10.30am and usually last about 1 hour.
