DESCRIPTION:Having a clear out of your kids stuff and want to generate a bit of extra money? \nCome along to our Family thrift market – an indoor market for second hand baby and children’s clothing\, toys\, books and other treasures! \nBook a table and run your own stall – a fantastic way to save money and recycle. \nTables range from £15 for a large trestle (2m x 1m)\, or £5 for a small square table (suitable for kids to sell their own stuff). The price includes the table itself with room to the side for a clothing rail (if you want to bring one) and room to the front for your larger items. Or bring your own table for £10. \nWe’ll be open from 10am – 1pm\, with set up from 8.30am for sellers. \nThere will be a café serving hot and cold refreshments. \nThe trading hours for the market are 10am – 1pm and we ask for you to be set up in time for the market to start at 10am. The hall will be open from 8.30am for set up\, and open until 2pm for pack down.

It’s a great way to reduce waste\, learn new skills\, and connect with your local community over a cuppa. \nNo need to book – just drop in! SUMMARY:The Craft - Where The Magic is in The Edit
DESCRIPTION:Manchester is a UNESCO City of Literature – home to world-class poets\, established literary organisations and countless open mics. But we have noticed a gap in spaces that centre learning how to edit your work. \nThe Craft brings the intimacy of a workshop with the energy of a live event\, offering insight into the editing process and a chance for poets to learn new skills. Each event will be followed by a Q&A to gain insight from two local writers who’ve been active in the industry for 10+ years. \nStructured in a fishbowl learning style: \nAttendees put their name in the fishbowl on arrival for a chance to be live-edited. The hosts then pull a select number of names from the bowl and live-edit these poets. The audience observes this process — watching\, listening\, and learning from the detailed craft decisions as they unfold. \nThis will be a relaxed atmosphere with drinks and snacks available on our bar. \nThe Hosts: \nCarson Wolfe is a Stretfordian poet and Grand Prize Winner of The Disquiet Literary Program (2024). They hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University\, and their work has appeared in POETRY\, The Rumpus\, The Common\, and Rattle. In 2023\, they won New Writing North’s Debut Poetry Prize\, received awards from The Aurora Poetry Prize and The Edward Thomas Fellowship\, and were longlisted for The Poetry Society’s National Competition. Their second chapbook\, Coin Laundry at Midnight\, is forthcoming with Button Poetry in spring 2026. \nAmy is a Mancunian poet\, English teacher\, and professional celebrant who believes poetry belongs to everyone. Self-taught and stage-trained\, her work is rooted in working-class experience and shaped by years on Manchester’s spoken word circuit. Her debut collection ‘Bedtime for Overthinkers’ features her most famous poem ‘My Kind of Heaven’ – which has been printed as a Glastonbury Festival postcard. As a celebrant\, Amy writes bespoke wedding poems for couples across the world\, and is co-host of Dead Good Poetry\, a local event exploring grief through poetry.

DESCRIPTION:Dance for Parkinson’s brings their award-winning dance program to Stretford Public Hall every Wednesday from 12 pm.\nIt is run by Lewis Bailey who is the Dance Teacher and Exercise Provider for the Parkinson’s group. He has over 20 years of experience as a Latin and Ballroom dancer and thoroughly enjoys teaching others to dance. \nThe class is for anyone affected by Parkinson’s. The dance for Parkinson’s class is a great way to get the body moving in a fun and inclusive environment. Dancing is known to reduce stress and alleviate physical and emotional pressures from the body and is therefore cited as being one of the best forms of exercise to take part in. \nThe class involves a number of warm up activities which range from breathing exercises\, stretches for the body\, and movement sequences. We then move onto some Latin and Ballroom steps\, or some creative movement to music. It caters for a wide range of abilities and the class can be done seated throughout if required. \nIS THERE A CHARGE \nNo\, all classes are funded by the Trafford branch of Parkinson’s UK \nDO I NEED TO BOOK\nNo\, just turn up 10 minutes before the class is due to start.
