DESCRIPTION:Local preloved or donated uniforms will be available to the whole community for free in our ballroom on Tuesday 20th and Tuesday 27th August from 12:30-3pm. \nSouth Manchester Foodbank and Bridging the Gap are working with Stretford Public Hall to provide what we can to help with the cost of uniform in Trafford. We don’t know what will be available and we don’t know how much but it will be worth a visit just in case. It will be all uniform and also items donated from organisations. \n\nWe plan to have colouring for children while you see what we have available. \nWe are not yet accepting donations of uniform but watch this space.

DESCRIPTION:‘The StretFest’\, a free\, neighbourhood-wide festival for Stretford has released a jam-packed programme of events and activities for its first ever outing on Saturday 6th July\, 11 until late.\nCelebrating Stretford’s vibrant culture and community\, The StretFest will feature diverse music\, art\, dance\, and interactive workshops\, unfolding across Stretford’s favourite venues and public spaces.\nThe festival will be spread across five ‘zones’ with over 15 venues participating including Stretford Public Hall\, Victoria Park\, Stretford Mall\, St Matthew’s Church\, Stretford Library and across the ‘Stretford Strip’ – the cluster of independent businesses on Chester Road. \nAt Stretford Public Hall we have activities from 11am-11pm. Kicking of with Longford choir and Singing together opening the festival with a performance in the Ballroom at 11am\, then we have BOSSIN’ kids meditation\, nail painting and self care in the Old Library and a Film Screening of Motherhood Unscripted in the Underhall. Outside we have a BBQ\, Coffee van and out carpark will become a party space with Cafe Del Car-Park (brought to you by local DJ collectives and Colby’s). DESCRIPTION:Monthly repair café\, at Stretford Public Hall\, on the first Sunday of the month\, starting June 2024. \nRepair Café is a community event\, where you can bring broken items from home such as toasters\, lamps\, hair dryers\, clothes\, bikes\, toys\, crockery… Nothing that is broken is welcome. The Repair Café specialists almost always have the know-how. \nWe’d love more helpers! If you fancy giving it a try\, come along on 2nd June – or get in touch with our volunteer coordinator Katherine Bays by emailing katherine@stretfordpublichall.org.uk \n\nAll repair café volunteers will become part of our large friendly team here at the hall and you can participate as much or as little as you like in our other activities\, including regular socials.

SUMMARY:Holiday Comedy Club
DESCRIPTION:Big Comedy Shop run comedy sketch and improvisation workshops for young people aged between 6 and 12. Experienced facilitators and (of course) funny comedy performers lead the school holiday sessions where students take part in a drama-style workshop but where the focus is on “the funny”. \nChildren get to create their own comedy characters and sketches based on their imagination and observations of the world. Big Comedy Shop is passionate about encouraging young people to express themselves in a safe and fun environment. \nThe aims of each sessions are to: \n• provide a safe space for creativity and play \n• develop communication and social skills \n• build self-esteem \n• enhance confidence \n• allow children to feel seen and heard \n• make our students feel like they matter \n• HAVE OODLES OF FUN! \nSessions will be running this Half Term on: \nWednesday 29th May\, Thursday 30th May and Friday 31st May! \nEach Half Term Comedy Club day runs from 10:30am – 3:30pm \n£35 per day per child (plus a small transaction fee). \nBig Comedy Shop director Ali Kahn is an award-winning comedy actor and writer who can be seen as series regular Meg Watson in CBBC comedy Still So Awkward and is a new main cast member in the CBBC comedy sketch show Class Dismissed. \nHave any questions or queries?
