Alongside Jim’s virtuosic Django Reinhardt inspired lead guitar the band features the improvisational talents of some of the North West’s finest gypsy jazz soloists in Andrzej Baranek (accordion) and Andrew Meyer (clarinet) and are backed up by a stellar swinging gypsy rhythm section. \nRarely has such a delicate balance been successfully struck between the artistic and the absurd. \nCome and take a peek whats on Django’s playlist as these talented\, humorous and charismatic individuals tear through the music of Britney Spears and alike\, whilst paying a respectful homage to the unrivalled swinging sounds of The Quintette du Hot Club de France. \n  \n \n  \nThe doors and the bar will open at 2.30pm for a 3pm start. \nRefreshments and cakes are available on the bar and are not included in ticket price.Bringing your own food and drink will not be permitted. \nIf you require an essential companion’s ticket or have any access requirements\, please email us at friends@stretfordpublichall.org.uk

SUMMARY:Big Comedy Shop
DESCRIPTION:Big Comedy Shop run comedy sketch and improvisation workshops for young people aged between 7 and 12. Experienced facilitators and (of course) funny comedy performers lead the school holiday sessions where students take part in a drama style workshop but where the focus is on “the funny”. \nChildren get to create their own comedy characters and sketches based on their imagination and observations of the world. Standing up for what’s right\, she’s met with miraculous results. \nNewcomer Alisha Weir takes on the title role in this new star-studded adaptation alongside Emma Thompson as the evil Miss Trunchbull and Lashana Lynch as the lovable Miss Honey. The film is rated PG. \nDoors open at 2.00pm and the screening will begin at 2.30pm. \nThere will be a bar selling cold drinks and snacks\, and an interval approximately half way through the film. \nThis is a subtitled screening.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at Stretford Public Hall for ‘Good as new!’\, our one day festival celebrating all things reuse and repair\, in partnership with Stretford’s clothing co-op Stitched Up! \nThere will be free bike repairs\, free clothing alterations and advice\, and a chance to join a Stitched Up! clothing repair workshop. Stitched Up! will also be on hand to give advice on repairing other household items\, as well as providing information about their Repair Cafes. \nPlastic Shed will be running free workshops\, sharing ideas on how to recycle plastic yourself\, and how to make a recycled plastic keyring. Stretford Street Art Club will also be running craft workshops for children. \nStretford in Bloom will be demonstrating how to make paper plant pots\, and One Trafford will be on hand to give advice about recycling and home composting. \nPlus – in our car park – we’re holding our first ever car boot sale! DESCRIPTION:Calling all mothers in Trafford! \nGet involved in an exciting performance project delivered by enJOY arts\, with sessions for mothers/mother figures\, of any age\, to share their experiences\, make their mark and capture living history. \nWelcoming all mothers/mother figures\, whether you’ve performed before or it’s completely new to you. \nSessions will work towards a devised performance that explores motherhood\, experiences of lockdown and stories of mothers from history. Looking at how we all cope in challenging times\, the AMAZING role of mothers and the resilience we show. \nSessions will run on Wednesday evenings 19:30-21:30 at Stretford Public Hall M32 0LG. This ticket registers you for all sessions. Performances will take place at Stretford Public Hall the weekend of the 8th and 9th July\, with some weekend rehearsals. \n
