Support our Blankety Bank

** The Blankety Bank is now closed. Thank you to everyone who donated to the campaign. We smashed our target and raised £1290 from 50 generous donations – enough for 65 electric blankets. We’ve now ordered the blankets and will distributing them through the community hub soon.**

At Stretford Community Hub, we’ve seen how the dramatic increase in living costs is hitting local people hard. We hear that many of our neighbours are worried about how they will get through the coming winter.

Even with support we can offer from the hub, we know it will not be enough to keep them warm. We want to push for a wider effort of community support, social solidarity – even a call to arms – to ask you to give something to your neighbour if you can.

That is why we’re asking members of our community to donate to our ‘Blankety Bank’, by donating the cost of an electric blanket.

Thanks to generous support from Silentnight, we’re able to buy electric blankets in bulk at a reduced price.

We know that times are tough for everyone but if you can spare £20 for the Blankety Bank, you can buy an electric blanket for a neighbour. We will make sure it goes to someone who really needs it. We’re hoping to raise £1000 to buy 50 electric blankets.
