Stretford Public Hall

Stretford Public Hall
Chester Rd
M32 0LG

0161 989 1689

Venue description

The Hall is a Grade II-listed Victorian building. There is an access ramp to the Hall’s main entrance on Chester Road and step-free access to the building using our side entrance on Dorset Street. We have a lift which services all publicly-accessible floors in the building. We have accessible toilets on both the ground floor and the first floor.  Most large events take place in our Ballroom which is on the Hall’s first floor and can be accessed by lift. Unfortunately, we do not have a Hearing Loop at the Hall at present.

Parking & taxis

There are two disabled parking spaces adjacent to the Hall on Dorset Street. We also have two dedicated disabled parking bays in our car park, which is just off Dorset Street. If you are arriving by taxi, they can pull up alongside the Hall on Dorset Street or can use the Hall’s car park for drop-off / collection.

Assistance dogs

We welcome assistance dogs in the Hall but please inform us in advance if you intend to bring an assistance dog to an event. We will require evidence that your dog is registered with an organisation that is a member of Assistance Dogs UK.

Personal assistants & carers

We recognise that some visitors might require the support of a personal assistant. In these instances, we are happy to offer an extra ticket, free of charge, to deaf and disabled visitors. Please contact Reception, for more information about event access for carers:

Access requirements

If you have any questions about access to the Hall, or you want to discuss your requirements with a member of staff, please contact the Hall’s manager Kate McGeevor:; 07926 686224.

How to get here

There is a bus stop outside the Hall on Chester Road which is serviced by several local bus routes (routes 79, 253, 255, 256, 263, 272 and 277), while buses to Stockport and south Manchester operate from Stretford Mall nearby.

You can use the Transport for Greater Manchester Journey Planner, to plan your bus route. The website also provides live updates of bus arrival times at specified bus stops.

The Greater Manchester online cycle map is produced in partnership with the Greater Manchester local authorities and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). The online map allows you to explore traffic free routes, on-carriageway cycle facilities, cycle shops and crossings.

Visit the GM Cycle Map

The Hall is a short distance from Stretford tram stop. Visit the Transport for Greater Manchester website for maps and timetables for both buses and trams.

If you’re travelling from outside Manchester, visit the Trainline website for information about rail travel. Trains connect with the tram at Manchester Piccadilly station.

Parking is available in the hall’s car park, which is adjacent to the hall on Dorset Street.

Please note that Dorset Street is a one-way street, so our car park can only be accessed via Chester Road. When leaving the car park, you must turn right and exit via Cyprus Street.

Our car park has 40 parking spaces, plus three dedicated disabled parking bays. If the car park is full, Stretford Mall offers 3 hours free parking and is a short 5 – 10 minute walk away.
