Changing Futures Trafford

Changing Futures Trafford supports people who experience multiple disadvantage, which is most commonly a combination of homelessness, substance misuse, mental health challenges, domestic abuse, and contact with the criminal justice system.

The programme aims to support people facing complex challenges, supporting them on a journey from crisis to stability. It also aims to improve the services that support people – looking at ways that services could be easier to access and more joined up.

Following a successful pilot year, the programme has secured further funding to continue over the next three years. We are grateful for the support of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and The National Lottery Community Fund in enabling this next phase of delivery.

The project is underpinned by early intervention and prevention, and takes a person-centred, and strengths-based approach. Since starting the programme in 2025, we have built strong foundations across Trafford — developing partnerships, strengthening collaborative ways of working, and seeing real, positive changes in people’s lives.

As the programme grows, we are continuing to build on this momentum. This includes strengthening our partnerships across Trafford’s VCFSE through our delivery partnership with BlueSci, and expanding our team with the addition of two new key workers.

Our approach remains flexible and innovative, working across services to better coordinate support and drive meaningful, sustainable change across the local system.
