On 10 May 2022, the Community Commissioners held an event at Stretford Public Hall to launch the Trafford Poverty Truth Commission.
The event was attended by around 80 people from various community organisations, and the public and private sectors in Trafford.
Community Commissioners shared their experiences of poverty in Trafford, and our Civic Commissioners had the first opportunity to hear first hand from the Community Commissioners.
Alongside our Commissioners, attendees heard from Cllr Cath Hynes, Deputy Leader of Trafford Council, and Mayor of Trafford, Laurence Walsh.
Attendees described the event as ‘inspiring’, ‘insightful’ and ‘powerful’. We hope that the effect of the launch event will lead to a Commission that creates long-lasting impact in Trafford.
The Manchester Evening News covered the launch event, and you can read the article here
