Sounds on Screen: Babylon

Experience the power of music on screen with a series of films spanning documentaries, biopics, and cult classics. Local partners will help bring the programme to life with complementary activities, from after-parties to panel discussions, making each night a full celebration of sound, screen, and culture.

Babylon follows a young reggae DJ from the Ital Lion sound system as he chases musical ambition while confronting racism, policing, and the rise of the National Front in Thatcher-era South London.

The night is powered by Copesetic Sound System, from the film screening to the vinyl-only afterparty, spinning ska, reggae, rocksteady, and roots — a full sound system experience from screen to dancefloor.
