Summer of Soul (or, when the revolution could not be televised)

Join us to watch this acclaimed film which has recently received an OSCAR and BAFTA Award for Best Documentary, and Grammy Award for Best Music Film.

SUMMER OF SOUL is a documentary about the legendary 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival which celebrated African-American music and culture and promoted Black pride and unity.
The feature includes never-before-seen concert performances by Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Sly & the Family Stone, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Ray Baretto, Abbey Lincoln & Max Roach and more.

The screening will be followed by a soundtrack session, where we’ll be playing all the songs from the film so you can have a drink and dance, bar open till 10.15pm.
