A Million Acts of Hope at Stretford Public Hall

We’re proud to be joining in with A Million Acts of Hope at Stretford Public Hall.
A Million Acts of Hope is a national invitation to celebrate the everyday acts of kindness, care and connection happening across the UK. At a time when division can feel loud, the campaign aims to bring together all these everyday acts of hope and shine a light on the people and communities making them happen. The A Million Acts of Hope Week of Action will take place 13 – 20 May.
Throughout the week, we’ll be inviting volunteers, staff and visitors to share what makes them feel hopeful and grateful. Everyone is welcome to drop in and add their thoughts to our growing “tree of hope” at any time during the week, right up until Tuesday 19th May.
On Tuesday 19th May from 12:30pm, all of these messages will come together in a special display across the ballroom floor — and everyone is warmly invited to come along and see it. We’ll also be sharing a community “stone soup”, inspired by the idea that small contributions can create something wonderful together. Staff will each bring in different vegetables, and our brilliant volunteer Hazel will turn them into a delicious soup for everyone to enjoy on ‘Together Tuesday’.
There’s even more happening across the week too, including a special screening at Friday Film Club, our regular ESOL Conversation Café on Tuesday, and the welcoming New Roots group supporting refugees in our community. Keep an eye out for colourful bunting of world flags brightening the lobby as we celebrate hope, kindness and community together.
