Black History Month events

We are celebrating Black History Month this half term with a programme of films that have a focus on Black history and culture.

We are kicking off our programme with Disney Pixar’s Soul (PG) on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th October. Soul is the first pixar film to feature an African-American protagonist. The story follows a middle school music teacher named Joe Gardner.  In addition, families will be able to enjoy a free craft session before the film. Monday night’s screening of Soul will be closed captioned and relaxed.

Tina (15) On Thursday 28th October we will be screening the new Tina Turner documentary. Fianlly, on Saturday 30th October we will be holding a family a celebration event. There will be film, food, family board games, fashion show and music, alongside a screening of  The Queen of Katwe (PG). The story of Phiona, a young girl from the rural streets of Uganda whose life changes after she learns how to play chess.
