Funding success brings new phase of restoration

We are delighted to be setting off on the next phase of the hall’s restoration, thanks to generous funding from Historic England, the Rayne Foundation and the Pilgrim Trust.

The work will be focused on restoring the front elevation of the hall, focusing mainly on the higher level stonework, windows and metalwork. We’re also hoping to improve our external signage and lighting.

Historic England have contributed £275,000 to the project, through their Heritage at Risk programme. We are also really grateful for a grant of £105,000 from the Rayne Foundation, as part of their Where People Meet programme, and to the Pilgrim Trust, who are contributing £30,000.

We will be starting development work next week with our professional team, led by Buttress Architects working alongside Ian Wilson QS. The work itself will be carried out next year in 2027.
