Join our thriving volunteer team!

September has been a brilliant month for volunteering at Stretford Public Hall. We’re delighted to share that 23 new volunteers have completed their induction and joined our growing team. This is one of our biggest intakes to date, and they’re already contributing their skills and time to help us deliver even more for the community.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do – from running weekly activities and supporting community events, to welcoming visitors, helping behind the scenes, and contributing to our work as one of Trafford’s Community Hubs. With more than 160 volunteers now involved, your Hall continues to thrive because of the time and kindness local people give.

To make sure our newest volunteers have the best possible start, we’ve paused general recruitment for a short period. This gives our new team members time to settle into their roles, receive training, and build confidence in their chosen areas.

However, we are still actively recruiting for a small number of opportunities where we need additional support:

• Hospitality – we’d love more bar volunteers for our evening and weekend events
• Sound Tech – get in touch if you have experience with P.A. systems, this is a great chance to build your skills at our events
• Hall Helper – our Tuesday Gardening Club needs more helpers
• Repair Cafe – do you enjoy problem‑solving, tinkering or helping people learn? Help visitors fix broken items and learn new skills at our monthly Repair Cafe.

If you’re interested in one of these roles, we’d love to hear from you. These opportunities are ideal for people who want to meet others, learn new skills, and make a positive difference in Stretford. All our opportunities are flexible around your availability.
