Milestone of 1000 M32 residents supported reached!

Stretford Public Hall’s Community Hub has proudly supported 1,000 residents through the Household Support Fund, a vital resource that helps local people access essential household items and stay safe and comfortable at home. The Household Support Fund, launched nationally to help people with the rising cost of living, has been running at the Hall since 2021, providing targeted help to residents most in need.
By supporting Stretford Public Hall, you are helping your neighbours too. Every act of kindness, donation, or visit contributes to the wellbeing of our community — the good work being done here is also your work, through us. We recognise and deeply appreciate the collective effort that makes Stretford such a caring and connected place to live. Stretford Public Hall shows the power of what’s possible when a community works as one.
While only one in fifteen of the residents we support each day receive this specific assistance, the impact has been life-changing. One parent told us, “This has been a massive help… now I can make and freeze my own food and store all my daughter’s milk again.” Another resident shared, “Without your help, I would not be able to cook warm meals for my kids. You have brought joy back to my home.” Others have spoken about how receiving a washing machine or cooker has supported both their physical and mental wellbeing — “Without a washing machine I’d have no way to keep my clothes clean… this has made the world of difference” — or enabled them to cook healthier food and spend time with family. Reaching this milestone highlights not only the essential role of the Household Support Fund but also the strength, care, and resilience of our Stretford community.
We pride ourselves on being able to discuss any problem and we try to support our neighbours in any situation. Together Tuesdays are a great place to start if you’re struggling. Throughout the week we have activities run by volunteers to support the diverse demographic of our shared community. If you know anyone or need help from the community hub, please contact 0161 989 1689 and emma@stretfordpublichall.org.uk to find out how we can support you. Stretford Public Hall is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together.
