Our Creative Lives

Calling all Creatives in Stretford, Humphrey Park & Longford

Are you a creative person connected to Stretford, Humphrey Park or Longford?

We’re building a network of artists, makers, organisers, performers, storytellers and creative people who care about culture in our area.

Last May, a group of local residents and organisations came together to map creative activity and share ideas for culture across Stretford, Longford and Humphrey Park. Since then, a lot has changed — including the closure of the mall and organisations finding new homes, as well as new activity emerging across the area.

This next phase is about opening that conversation up to more people, updating what we know, and shaping what comes next together.

As part of Trafford’s Our Creative Lives programme, we’ll be bringing people together over the coming months to explore:

• What’s happening now — and what’s changed
• Who isn’t currently involved in cultural activity
• The stories of this place that deserve to be celebrated
• Ideas for a future Year of Culture in Trafford

We want to hear from everyone involved in creativity, whether you:

  • make art, music, performance or film
  • organise events or run community activities
  • run a venue or creative space
  • work in heritage or storytelling
  • support creative projects
  • are just starting out or creating informally

You don’t need to be a professional artist. Creativity happens everywhere.

Over the next few months we’ll be hosting three creative gatherings where local voices can help shape ideas for culture in the area, and we’ll also be commissioning a local artist to explore Stories of Place.

If you’d like to be part of the conversation, join the network by filling in the form here

Please share this with anyone else you think should be involved — especially people who haven’t been part of these conversations before.
