Next phase of Stretford Public Hall renovation begins!

We’re excited to report that work on the next phase of the hall’s renovation is about to begin, and we’re once again working with Rosslee Construction and Buttress Architects to deliver the project.

The work, which will run from September to December 2024, will include:

  • Essential repairs and maintenance to the Stretford Public Hall roof, including replacing parapet gutters.
  • The upgrade if lighting, replacing old strip lighting with efficient LED replacements.
  • An upgrade of the hall’s heating system, creating new heating zones and replacing old radiators with modern replacements with thermostatic valves.
  • Installation of insulation in a select number of roof voids.
  • Reinstatement of boarded up windows on the ground floor.

The professional team is being lead by Buttress Architects, working with Ian Wilson QS, Thomasons structural engineers and Ingleton Wood, building services engineers. This is the team that Friends of Stretford Public Hall worked with on our ballroom restoration and we are delighted to be working with them again.

We are grateful to the following funders for supporting the project:

  • Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government – Community Ownership Fund
  • VCSE Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme
  • Cooperatives UK – Community Shares Booster
  • Co-operative & Community Finance

And a massive thank you to everyone who supported our Community Share Offer, which closed in February, and provided the essential match-funding for the project.
