She Said screening

As part of our series of cinema nights, we are pleased to be screening ‘She Said’, on Thursday 16 March.

The film tells the true story of two New York Times reporters Megan Twohey (Carey Mulligan) and Jodi Kantor (Zoe Kazan) who investigate and bring to light the decades of sexual abuse and misconduct by Harvey Weinstein, one of the most powerful men in Hollywood.

Together, their commitment and fortitude sparked a global conversation, which helped to propel the #MeToo movement and fuel a reckoning of the system that enabled Weinstein’s behaviour, leading to an end of the silence of abuse.

The film details the journey of the reporters and editors who were determined to find out the truth, and shows the courage of survivors and witnesses who chose to come forward to prevent others from being a victim of similar harm.

The doors and the bar will open at 7pm. The screening will start at 7.30pm and finish at 10pm, with an interval. The film is subtitled.
