Stretford foodbank: Christmas appeal

All next week, we are collecting donations for the Stretford foodbank Christmas appeal.

All donations can be dropped off at Stretford Public Hall between 9am – 4.30pm, from Monday 29th November to Friday 3rd December. If you’re attending a class or event at the hall next week, you can also bring donations along then.

In particular, we’re after donations of the following items:

  • Christmas pudding (Single and family sizes)
  • Tinned Salmon
  • Tinned Ham
  • Jam
  • Tinned Fruit
  • Gravy mix
  • Tinned Custard
  • Stuffing
  • Tinned evaporated milk
  • Trifle Mix
  • Jelly
  • Pickles / cranberry etc
  • Crisps /Savoury biscuits /Crackers
  • Box of Biscuits / Tin of Biscuits
  • Box of Chocolates / Mint chocolates
  • Selection Boxes
  • Mince pies
  • Chocolate finger biscuits
  • Christmas Cake (not home made)
  • Nibbles/nuts
  • Shortbread
  • Small chocolate treats for kids such as chocolate coins, tree decorations.
  • Dog & cat pet food

All food should be non-perishable. Please do not donate out-of-date food, or food that is past its Best Before date, as this cannot be given out. (Also the foodbank has a good supply of baked beans, dried pasta and tinned soup at the moment, so these are not part of the Christmas appeal.)

As well as collecting for the foodbank, we would also really appreciate any donations for our Christmas Tombola, which will be held at our Christmas Fair on Saturday 11th December 2021. If you have any unwanted gifts or bottles of booze, please consider donating them to our Tombola, to help us raise funds for the hall.
