First ELEVATE workshops begin

Last week, our ELEVATE project hosted its first arts workshop led by the hall’s artist-in-residence Venessa Scott.

Venessa took the group through a creative process that she often uses in her own work which explores paint, colour, texture and pattern.

Jessica Loveday, the project manager explains: “The workshop was really special as it was the first time in so long that we’d been in a room with other people making art, being creative, sharing ideas and encouraging words and above all laughing and having fun!

Some of the group members moved to the UK just before or as the pandemic hit and so the workshop was a great opportunity to welcome them to the hall and to Stretford.”

There will be an exhibition at the hall in July showcasing the art that is created in the workshops, alongside the latest work of Venessa and other artists.
