Heritage Open Day – Saturday 13th Sept. 2025

Join us on Saturday 13th September for a day of discovery, conversation and community!

Our doors will be open from 12pm – 4pm for you to explore the rich history of Stretford Public Hall.

  • Free guided tours of the building will run throughout the afternoon. Discover and explore the hall’s hidden corners; learn about the hall’s fascinating past, and find out what’s planned for its future. Have a chat with Enriqueta Rylands!
  • Talks by local historians, film shows and displays will illustrate the hall’s long and vibrant past, highlighting key events and activities held in the hall over the years.
  • Entrance and all activities are free. We will also run a tombola and a cafe to raise funds for our heritage project – bring a little cash to try your luck and our home-made cakes.
  • Children will be able to participate in a number of Victorian-themed crafts and games.

Share your memories of the hall with us! We’d love to hear about your personal connections to the hall and find out more about the organisations and communities who used the hall over the past 150 years. Please contribute your stories, photos, and memories of the hall to help preserve its legacy.

Everyone is welcome, whether you’re curious about the building, interested in volunteering, or just fancy a cuppa.

Thanks to our Heritage Volunteer Group for organising this. Want to become a heritage volunteer for next time? Email Kaf – katherine@stretfordpublichall.org.uk
